Dr. Scott Hirose
A 4th generation Bay Area native who studied at UC Berkeley, earned his DDS magna cum laude at UCLA, and completed specialty training at Penn — then came home to practice.
Dr. Scott Hirose is a 4th generation Bay Area native who studied Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley before earning his DDS from UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating magna cum laude. He completed specialty training in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and returned to the Bay Area to practice — where he sees patients across Hayward, Berkeley, and Oakland.
His academic record is strong. At UCLA he received the Dr. No-Hee Park Award and the Dean's Letter of Recognition, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, dentistry's national honor society. He brings the same methodical attention to the treatment room that carried him through that training.

The procedure isn't finished until the outcome is right.
Dr. Hirose takes his time before reaching for an instrument. He runs manual tests and uses 3D imaging to understand what is actually driving a patient's pain — and then he explains it. Patients consistently describe him as unhurried, clear, and gentle. Those who have dreaded the numbing injection specifically note that they felt nothing.
His standard is that the procedure isn't finished until the outcome is right. If that means an additional visit, that's what it means.
His follow-up doesn't end when the appointment does — he tracks some cases for a year or more to confirm the tooth is healing the way it should. Patients who have seen him more than once tend to come back and ask for him by name.
He works with GentleWave and the full technology suite available across Endospecialists — surgical microscope, CBCT imaging, and the EdgeEndo laser — with diagnosis and patient comfort guiding how and when each tool is used.
"Dr. Hirose takes time with his patients to get the job done right and the staff are awesome. I've never had a better experience getting a root canal."
